Terms of Use

These terms explain using InkHour, memberships and the rights you keep as a customer.

The app and licence

InkHour is provided by Nima Yahyaabady. Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement applies to the app. These terms supplement it with product and purchase information and do not remove rights you have under applicable law.

Use InkHour on compatible Apple devices in accordance with Apple’s usage rules. Do not redistribute, resell or misuse the app. Restrictions on copying or reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law and relevant open source licences.

What InkHour does

InkHour helps you protect reading time with Apple Screen Time, choose scheduled or voluntary sittings, set a daily goal and keep a reading record. You read your own books. InkHour does not supply books or independently verify that you have read a page.

Minutes from completed sittings count toward your daily goal. Ending a sitting early does not credit that sitting. A filled blot represents reaching that day’s goal. Streak saves preserve continuity under the app’s rules and do not represent completed reading.

You remain in control. Essential apps can be kept available and you can end a sitting using the bypass control. App blocking depends on compatible Apple software, permission settings and operating system behaviour. InkHour is not a guarantee of uninterrupted blocking or a particular reading, productivity or wellbeing result.

Membership options

Reading sessions require an active membership. InkHour offers monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions and a lifetime purchase. Features and offers available to you are shown in the app.

Your local price, currency, billing period and any trial are shown by the App Store before confirmation. Prices can differ between countries or regions. Monthly subscriptions are billed each month and annual subscriptions each year. Lifetime is a single purchase with no recurring subscription, tied to your purchasing Apple Account.

Free trials and renewal

Eligible subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Apple determines eligibility. Confirm the offer shown on the purchase screen. If you are not eligible, the price shown may be charged when you confirm.

A trial becomes a paid subscription at the displayed price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.

Turning off renewal does not normally remove access before the paid period or trial expires. Once membership expires, new reading sessions are unavailable until access is renewed. Your existing local reading record remains available.

Managing purchases and refunds

Manage or cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. Apple’s cancellation guide explains the steps. Deleting InkHour does not cancel a subscription.

Use Restore purchases in InkHour with the Apple Account used to buy access. Purchase restoration restores access, not a deleted local reading history.

Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests. You can request a refund through Apple. Contact us about app problems. Your applicable consumer rights are preserved.

Your content and third-party services

You choose your books, notes and any images you export. Nothing is posted automatically. Only share content you have permission to share. Optional Open Library search and covers, Apple sharing destinations, RevenueCat and PostHog are governed by their applicable terms and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for how they are used.

Your reading record is stored locally. We do not operate a cloud backup of that record. Keep any backups you need. Optional external services and cover availability can change.

Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including guarantees and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable consumer laws. Learn more about Australian consumer guarantees.

Subject to those rights, the app is provided as available and we do not promise that it will be error-free or always available. Any limitations under Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Apple and support

The app is provided by the developer, rather than Apple. Responsibilities and Apple’s status under the licence are set out in Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement. For InkHour support, email nima.yahya2@gmail.com.

Changes

Updated terms will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights already earned or override the purchase terms confirmed through Apple.
